Hydroponics
a way to grow indoor plants (and not only) using artificial media without soil. That is, a more simplified growing system that frees you from mistakes with top dressing, watering and soil preparation. The plant receives all nutrients from a special solution.
This technology allows you to grow much larger crops, while the roots of the plant are fixed in the substrate (this is what the roots grow in, such as a sponge or something similar), which is neutral in itself, but impregnated with special compounds. Cucumbers, tomatoes, dill and parsley are grown using this technology.
Chemically neutral substrates (for growing at home) include pumice, mineral wool, expanded clay, sand. And also a filler that has recently become used is a hydrogel that swells in a pot. Its approximate service life for the benefit of the plant is about six months. Then it is replaced.
Fertilizers for hydroponics come with fewer impurities, and also contain all the required trace elements. Even in conventional soil fertilizers, there are fewer of them.
Hydroponics is used both on an industrial scale and in the household, but for domestic use, you need to be a specialist in order to be able to calculate the proportions of the necessary elements. You can of course take the path of least resistance, relying on the fact that the most important elements for flowers are nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium.
A good result will depend on when and in what composition and quantity you provide everything your houseplant needs during the care process. But if after choosing this option you have more questions than answers, it is better to grow in a natural way: it is more familiar this way.
