Many people like this plant already because it is very reminiscent of a palm tree, only a dwarf, and much unpretentious, and is also called a dragon tree and is considered a tree of happiness because it seems to bring good luck in love affairs. Dracaena can take root both in light and in a shady room. However, the presence of the sun is still preferable for her (except for direct rays). The temperature regime is also not particularly important, the main thing is not lower than fifteen degrees and without drafts. Dracaena also needs moderate watering and spraying, especially for specimens with variegated and leaves.
Dracaena and its reproduction
Propagated by cuttings. A medium-sized cutting (up to fifteen cm) is placed in water or a peat-sand mixture, but do not expect quick rooting: not earlier than one and a half to two months. Growth accelerators can be used to speed up the process. It is also possible to reproduce dracaena by layering from the apical part. For transplanting, palm soil or even ordinary soil is suitable, as well as a mixture of sod, leaf soil and humus.
In order for the plant to take on the appearance of a palm tree, it is enough to remove the apical part, then the dracaena will shaggy.
