How to teach a child to manage time?

Time is an extremely valuable resource. Every adult understands this, even if they do not know how to properly dispose of it. Keeping everything on time is a useful and necessary habit for a successful person.

It often happens like this: the day flew by in one fell swoop, and the child did not have time to do anything. I wandered around the house from corner to corner - neither the homework was ready, nor the garbage was taken out, nor the bread was bought.

Of course, you can blame your child for being disorganized, but it is better to help plan the day so that there is enough time for study, communication with friends, and household chores. Setting an example for a child, and at the same time learning how to manage their own time is an important task for every parent.

Schedule

The first thing to do is make a schedule. The to-do list should include both duties and rest. It is important to prescribe everything that the child's day consists of. Allocate the time needed to complete these tasks, taking into account 5-10 minutes, for unforeseen circumstances.

Try to stick to the schedule as clearly as possible, since the formation of a habit depends on the constancy of performance. It is necessary to be guided by such a schedule until you begin to perform all the necessary tasks automatically. It should be noted that the more items on the list, the easier it will be to enter the desired rhythm.

Discuss all the nuances together so that later there is no discontent and misunderstanding. Explain to your child why it is so important to learn how to properly allocate your time, how it will be useful to him in life. Punctuality, respect for other people's time and the value of your own are the main points that are important to understand.

As a rule, schoolchildren loaded with lessons with a tutor in physics and mathematics, dancing, swimming, household chores get used to the intense rhythm of life more easily and quickly. Of course, additional activities should be to the liking of the children and correspond to their interests.

The ideal option would be to do household chores together. For example, the parents are busy cooking and doing laundry, while the child dusts or cleans his room. And then we can relax together.

Do not forget that the child needs to walk, communicate with peers and just relax. Emotional unloading is needed equally for children and adults.

Remember that your personal example will become the best teacher for the child in the difficult but important ability to properly manage their time.
