Transplanting indoor plants

No need to open America, and so everyone knows that it is better to transplant flowers in the spring. Since at this time they have already awakened and began to actively develop. Transplantation of indoor plants should be carried out, first of all, taking into account the size of the pot. There is no need to be zealous in this regard: the roots of the flower should fit in the container (but not stick out of the bottom, this happens when the pot is small), but the pot for growth will only contribute to the souring of undeveloped land.

Pay attention to those flowers that you have not transplanted for a long time, choose a suitable vessel for them. The best option if the old pot will fit in it back to back. And use fresh soil, as the former soil is no longer saturated and fertile.

If you use pots from other flowers, wash them thoroughly with hot water so that microorganisms from the soured earth do not remain on the walls. Expanded clay or coals are usually placed at the very bottom of the pot as a drainage layer, due to which the roots will breathe and excess water will leave. Then a thin layer of earth is poured. What follows is some very delicate work.

Prepare the flower itself. It must be carefully removed from the old pot, and just as carefully freed from the previous soil, wash the remnants. To do this, it is enough to lower the roots into the water (prepare a bucket or basin in advance). When they are found in their pure form, separate the damaged and rotten areas.

Then, without delay, plant the plant in a new pot, helping the roots to take a comfortable position and sprinkling with earth. Tap the pot periodically so that the soil settles even in small voids. As soon as the pot is tightly filled to the level of the root neck of the flower, you can pour warm water (not higher than thirty-five degrees, depending on the type of plant).

The process of transplanting houseplants is painful, so at first you will notice that some leaves have withered. Patiently nurse the flower, creating comfortable conditions, which we wrote about in the article on caring for indoor plants.
