cacti
the birthplace of cacti , where they are also found in the wild. They belong to succulent plants, which are characterized by the storage of water in separate parts (leaves, stems or roots). There are several types: spherical, shrubby, cylindrical and others.
It is logically clear that they belong to heat-loving plants, but for some reason some amateur flower growers put them in shaded places. Still, the best placement option for this plant is a window sill. Although near the computer, the cactus will neutralize the electromagnetic radiation. You can also use artificial lighting and periodically rotate the flower so that it does not tilt to one side.
Cacti propagate by cuttings. This should be done in the spring (otherwise it will be harmful for the mother plant). The scheme of actions is as follows: the stalk is cut off, in the place where the roots are supposed to be, it is sharpened and left to dry for several days (at least a week). During this time, they may wrinkle a little - this is acceptable. Then it is planted in the prepared soil and strengthened with a drainage layer.
The soil is prepared from humus, coarse sand and clay. In general, a rather primitive composition that does not require much fuss from an amateur grower, the main thing is that the earth has an alkaline index. But if you want the cactus to bloom, you will have to put in a lot of effort. And despite the fact that they grow in nature in the open air, being in the direct rays of the sun can cause burns in a home cactus. For these flowers, it is better to choose shallow pots, otherwise the roots may rot.
