Chlorophytum tufted
this, one might say, is a classic of any living space in which flowers are present. Many people like the cheerful coloring of this plant, which is distinguished by longitudinal white stripes.
As in the case of tradescantia, in order to avoid blanching or disappearance of stripes on the leaves, it is necessary that the flower be in a bright place. The shady location leads to a darkening of the color of the leaves.
The optimum temperature for winter time is fifteen degrees, at higher temperatures and lack of light, the leaves turn yellow and fall off. And excessive watering combined with low temperatures leads to wrinkling of the leaves. Overdrying the air also does not play in favor of the flower, as the tips of its leaves turn brown and dry.
Top dressing is carried out during the period of active growth (spring-summer) a couple of times a month with complex fertilizers for indoor flowers.
Reproduction of chlorophytum
Young flowers are transplanted once a year in March. Check the roots: if they come out of the bottom holes, then the flower is already cramped in the old pot. If the plant is more than 3 years old, then it will be enough to change the topsoil.
Propagated most often by rosettes - this is a simpler and easier way. Another option is to separate part of the bush. To do this, the chlorophytum is first watered, then carefully removed from the pot, the earth is shaken off the roots and divided into several bushes by cutting. At the incision site, sprinkle with charcoal powder. Then planted in separate pots.
The earth is prepared from soddy, leafy, peat soil with an admixture of humus and sand. A drainage layer is made at the bottom.
