Adaptation of the child in kindergarten

Once in a subordinate position, any person tries to defend their interests. If the situation does not allow for an open struggle and victory, a subconscious defensive mechanism is triggered: there is a breakdown, depression, and in some cases even illness. A similar reaction can occur at any age, including in childhood. The most common situation that triggers passive resistance is the adaptation of a child in kindergarten.

Adaptation of the child in kindergarten

The topic of kindergarten is extremely exciting for parents, causing a lot of controversy. But the fact remains that with all the difficulties and shortcomings, attending a preschool institution has a number of advantages.

First: at a certain age, every kid needs to communicate with peers.

Secondly, for full-fledged development, the child must be able to solve various problems without parental help.

Thirdly: in kindergarten, little boys and girls feel reasonable demands on the part of the teacher and receive an adequate assessment of their work.

In addition, discipline, daily routine and nutritional norms are observed more strictly in preschool institutions than at home. The most important thing that gives a visit to the team is the experience of socialization, without which a normal existence in society is impossible.

"Nesadovsky" child

It can be unequivocally said that parents perform an action useful for the child by sending him to kindergarten. They don't take care of raising a child on their own. Unfortunately, in most cases, kids do not agree with this. In general, they are easy to understand: children have to accept the rules that have developed in the team, no one adapts to them, and the teacher pays not so much attention to everyone for quite objective reasons. That is why the children need a certain time to get used to the new conditions of life, this period is usually called adaptation. For some, it lasts several weeks, for others it takes two months, but there are boys and girls who cannot fall in love with the kindergarten until graduation.

Children who find it difficult to adapt to a preschool are called "non-sad". A visit to this institution is a real punishment for them and causes a storm of negative emotions. In addition, they get sick very often. As a result, a painful question arises before parents: “Is it worth it to take the baby to the garden at all?”. The answer to it depends on the characteristics of each specific situation, however, there are general recommendations.

Objective and subjective difficulties

In fact, there are very few "non-Sadov" children. These include babies with chronic diseases that require medical supervision, diet, regimen and other conditions that cannot be created within the framework of a conventional preschool institution. All other individual characteristics, including sensitivity, aggressiveness, hyperactivity, are not contraindications for visiting the garden.

True, it is very difficult for parents to deal with one circumstance - these are too frequent illnesses of the baby. Several factors provoke them at once:

  • stress associated with changing living conditions, which reduces resistance to disease;
  • a sharp increase in the number of contacts with a variety of viruses and bacteria carried by other children.

How to help the baby?

In fact, the parents of a normal child who has difficulty getting used to kindergarten need to act in two directions: to take care of his general recovery and hardening, and also to restore his spiritual harmony. Moreover, the second aspect should be given increased attention, because the cause of frequent colds lies precisely in emotional discomfort.

Flight into illness is considered one of the psychological defense mechanisms. The child does not catch a cold on purpose. The desire to get sick is subconscious, but the body obeys it, becomes weakened and does not resist the "invaders".

First of all, parents need to make sure once again that the kindergarten and teacher they have chosen is really suitable for the baby. It is very important that the atmosphere in the preschool is comfortable and friendly, and the tutor adheres to the same behavior as the parents.

The second important point is communication with the baby. While in kindergarten, the child misses his parents very much, especially his mother. Therefore, it is necessary to try to make up for the lack of attention and care when the baby is at home.

Adapting to kindergarten can be painful for both the child and the parents. But you should not label the baby as a “non-Sadovsky” child. It is necessary to understand the reasons for difficult adaptation, perhaps even with the help of a psychologist, and help the baby.
