Natural hair dyes and their properties

Beauty, as you know, requires everything, including sacrifices. Saturated color is achieved by regular dyeing, but the use of hair dyes (and those that contain ammonia are good at dyeing) is harmful, plus daily blow-drying ... And now a modest tail remains from a lush mop. Someone will say, it's time to switch to natural paints. But from this place you can start to tell in more detail: what kind of natural dyes, what are their benefits and whether it is worth betting on them. About everything in order.

Henna hair coloring

One of the options that was very popular in Soviet times. Is it worth remembering now about this method? It is believed that henna strengthens hair and changes its color due to the tannins that make up its composition. However, in reality we have a slightly different picture than we would like.

Henna is absorbed into the upper layers of the hair (fresh is better), due to which they become stiffer, less flexible, difficult to style and may even fall out due to the effect of weighting. It is not completely washed off, even over time, you will have to wait until the entire colored length is gradually cut off.

As for the color, it is rather impossible to acquire a noble shade by such coloring. True, on dark hair a pleasant warm color will be noticeable. The situation is different with blond hair, in particular bleached hair: there is a risk of getting a greenish tone. The depth of the shade depends on the time the cooked slurry is held on the hair.

A separate topic is painting over gray hair. Of course, henna will not take them. The output will be a bright copper-red or carrot. Hair exposed to such an effect will not look beautiful, and those with gray hair may generally get an untidy look.

On sale there is not only the standard "red" henna, but there is also black, chestnut, colorless. The latter is suitable solely for strengthening purposes. And their consistency is different: for convenience, it can be immediately in a bottle, in the form of a powder or pressed.

Hair coloring coffee

This option is suitable for dark hair. Coffee does not color, but gives a chocolate shade. Natural coffee is brewed thicker: three small spoons with a slide for the same number of glasses of water. Boil for ten minutes, filter, rinse hair.

The effectiveness of coffee staining will be better if you mix the gruel from equal parts of basma, henna and coffee. Pour hot water, because the warmer the mixture, the better the coloring goes. Apply to hair, wrap with a plastic bag and wait about an hour and a half. Since this is all done on clean hair, it is not recommended to wash with detergent immediately after the procedure in order to allow the color to take hold.

Blondes need to take into account that coffee is still not a full-fledged coloring agent, and there is a possibility of uneven staining, so this option is more suitable for giving a chic shine to brown-haired women or brunettes.

The use of basma

To add shine and elasticity to the hair, a proven herbal remedy, basma, is also used. It is also good in the fight against dandruff, plus it improves the microcirculation of the scalp, which promotes the growth of new hair.

In order not to spoil your original color, it is recommended to mix basma with henna. For example, in a ratio of three to one, then the output will be a chocolate shade. Again, it is more suitable for dark-haired ladies, as it gives a natural chestnut or black with variations depending on the initial color and structure.

Usually, the mixed slurry is applied to washed hair. But you need to be careful, since this remedy is washed off from the skin for a very long time (preliminary lubrication with petroleum jelly will help), and it will not be washed off from clothes at all. Withstand usually the more, the richer the tone is needed. Gray hair is painted over in several stages.
