The question is good. In fact, few people think about whether it will be needed at all in life as such. Most Russians (over 70%) today believe that education is the first necessity for any young person. The older generation is guided primarily by the fact that if they themselves failed to become educated and arrange their lives, then the children must definitely go further.
The younger generation has its own priorities: first of all, get a prestigious profession, make a career and earn a lot of money ; the second point is to be, as they say, no worse than others: today no one dreams of working at a factory, but in order to maintain the status of an intellectual, one must certainly get a higher education.
But for some reason, no one takes the other side into account, rather, they don’t even think about it. The fact is that the pursuit of prestige drives a person to where he does not belong. For example, everyone wants to be leaders, but before you “lead your hands”, it would be good to evaluate: but you need it. Not everyone is given the opportunity to be an effective manager. The second important point is that the same young people who used to study at vocational schools now study at universities for money. Why, if their abilities are in “applied sciences”. If everyone rushes to be lawyers, who will drive trams, work at the factory?
Separately, I would like to say about women: many of them today strive to be strong, to make a career on a par with men, but what about the main purpose: to give birth to children, to keep a family hearth . Unfortunately, when it comes to understanding that planting a tree and building a house are exclusively male guidelines, but it seems to be too late to give birth to a son (or daughter).
Is higher education necessary to build a career?
Now it’s worth talking about the importance of education for building a career. You received a higher education: you tried first of all for the employer. Who objects means your place among businessmen. For those who doubted the correctness of the wording, we will decipher it. Today, to get a good job , you have to please the employer. Why do you need education and experience? The employer, of course, has requests for specialists with higher education, but sometimes it comes to the point of absurdity. Judge for yourself, if earlier salespeople in a store at best had a technical school behind them, today an ordinary consultant must have an institute diploma. Question: did he study for 5 years in order to then work as a salesman in the most ordinary store?
Moreover, various specialists with engineering education then work in advertising firms, or somewhere else. Why did they receive this higher education? And then, that all of our polls are now educated. Only when everyone has it, then its true value has already been lost. Because if a person does not have enough mental or other abilities, then his destiny is in something else, and he or she received a higher education, spent money, but have no predisposition to this profession. Well, how after that to say whether there is a need for higher education? Rather, not for everyone. Just a tribute to fashion. Today, there are specialists with diplomas all around, but not everyone will build a career.
For a girl with the makings of a businesswoman, it is not education that is important, but a commercial streak, an idea for starting a business. And then she notes to herself that she needs to get, for example, accounting skills. To do this, today there are various kinds of courses. I went, received information in its purest form, mind you, not in 5 years, and runs a business, while the rest gnaw at the granite of science with a bunch of passing husks and who knows what else.
Therefore, determine the value of education for yourself. Do you want to spend a lot of time (and money) in order to then work not in your specialty, but according to the principle: where you can get a job is your exclusive right. Only such a desire would not play a cruel joke: they say that soon there will be no jobs for lawyers and economists, because there is an overabundance of them in the labor market. Although, who knows, maybe you just get lucky? ...
