A homemade face mask is a kind of magic remedy that provides additional nutrition, increases skin tone, adds dullness and radiance. In general, it is akin to the elixir of youth, it makes you even younger, even more desirable. No wonder they say that if you have clean smooth skin, then you can already consider yourself a beauty. To make the choice of mask as accurate as possible, you must know your skin type. Often the skin is mixed: in the T-zone - oily, dry on the cheeks.

Basic skin types

  • Normal skin is close to ideal : it is quite elastic, smooth, has a pleasant pinkish tint, it does not have black dots and pimples.
  • Combination skin . The most common type. It is characterized by excessive fat secretion in certain places: on the nose, forehead and chin. But around the eyes and on the cheeks, as a rule, dry, prone to wrinkles. Taking into account the characteristics of each zone, care products should also be selected.
  • Dry skin . Usually looks thin, often peels off. Owners of this type of skin already at a young age have barely noticeable wrinkles. As a rule, such skin reacts to all external irritants. When in contact with soap, there is a feeling of tightness.
  • Oily skin . Differs in excessive fat secretion (glistens). For this reason, the pores of the skin are often clogged, leading to pimples and blackheads (comedones).

Rules for the use of masks

For normal skin, it is enough to make masks every one and a half to two weeks. For dry - 1-2 times a week. Do not overexpose the masks on the face for more than 20 minutes, especially those that harden during drying.

Face mask at home are made from fruits and vegetables. They relieve stress and fatigue, give the skin a fresh, rested look. To do this, just take berries, citrus slices or cucumbers. Make a pulp from the fruits and put the freshly prepared mixture on your face (you can use gauze), and orange slices can be used whole. A little patience and you look fresh and cheerful.

With often sweating skin (especially in summer), it is recommended to wash your face with St. John's wort tincture.

Mask by skin type

Mask for dry skin
Curd mask. Cottage cheese, and kefir in equal proportions (one teaspoon each) with the addition of 1/2 tablespoon of honey, grind and apply on the face. Keep fifteen minutes, then rinse with warm water.

Carrot mask. Grate medium-sized carrots and mix with egg yolk. Apply to face, excluding eye area. After fifteen to twenty minutes, you can wash it off with warm water.

Mask for oily skin

  1. The protein-carrot mask is made from egg white with the addition of a teaspoon of olive oil, plus a little grated carrot and a little bit of starch.
  2. Apple mask. Grate an apple on a fine grater. Beat one egg white and mix both billets until a homogeneous slurry. Apply the resulting mixture on the face and neck. Wash off with warm water.
  3. Citrus mask. Prepared from lemon juice, grapefruit with the addition of a couple of tablespoons of honey. 10 minutes is enough for the skin to be saturated with vitamins and become a ball. With oily skin masks are best washed off with cold or cool water (so the pores narrow).
  4. To eliminate oily skin, a peach gruel mask with starch is also useful (one peach and a teaspoon of starch are enough).

You can clean your face after visiting the bath. As soon as you get out of the steam room, clean your skin with the following solution: dissolve half a teaspoon of soda and salt in a spoonful of soapy water (or take shaving foam). And with light massaging movements, go over the most contaminated areas of the skin. You will notice that after the procedure, the skin becomes smoother and clearer.

Mask for combination skin
A nourishing sauerkraut mask will be good. Take a tablespoon of flour, 2 tablespoons of sauerkraut juice, beaten egg white. Mix everything until smooth and apply on the face. Wash off with cool water.

It is also useful to know the properties of the components included in your homemade masks. Egg yolk - nourishes, honey is indispensable as an emollient, fruit and vegetable components reduce pores and nourish, herbs have a wound healing and stimulating effect.

    Cleansing face masks are not as effective without mechanical cleaning of the face. Before the mask, I squeeze out the pores, and the skin looks cleansed.
