Fermentative dyspepsia: Causes. Diagnostics. Treatment

Each violation in the work of the intestine has its own causes and symptoms. What is fermentative dyspepsia. It is most difficult to correctly diagnose diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in children, but adults tend to delay treatment, exacerbating the problem.

Fermentative dyspepsia

Functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract occur in both infants and adults. Causes and symptoms may vary, but you should not diagnose yourself and try to cope with troubles on your own. Do not postpone a visit to the doctor, even if you have a hereditary predisposition, habitual symptoms or seasonal disorders. Chronic fermentative dyspepsia can be treated with an integrated approach and diet.

How does fermentative dyspepsia differ from other types of the disease?

Dyspepsia manifests itself as a violation of the intestines, but has its own varieties and different causes, and there is chronic dyspepsia and acute.

Putrefactive dyspepsia occurs in the intestine due to the processes of putrefaction against the background of a change in its secretory function. This happens with an increased secretion of gastric juice, rich in protein compounds. Dark and liquid feces (diarrhea) have a sharp specific smell.

Alimentary dyspepsia occurs with a large food load on the intestines, due to an excess of carbohydrate foods and crude fiber.

Fermentative dyspepsia develops against the background of a violation of the motility of the walls of the small intestine - carbohydrates are incompletely digested and absorbed by the body.

Attention : Often, dyspepsia is also observed with untimely emptying of the intestine, which leads to a chronic form of the disease.

Causes of dyspepsia

Among the most common causes of the development of the disease is a violation of the intestines with malnutrition and deviations in the secretory function of the gastrointestinal tract. A large amount of poorly chewed carbohydrate food, eaten hastily, which does not contribute to the full breakdown of carbohydrates. Food is poorly absorbed by the digestive tract, causing fermentation. This is aggravated by pathological bacteria, lack or excess of pancreatic enzymes and autoimmune factors.

Symptoms of the disease:

  •  abdominal pain and intestinal colic;
  •  flatulence and sounds in the stomach;
  •  frequent belching and a specific smell from the mouth;
  •  lack of appetite;
  •  vomiting and nausea;
  •  unusual taste in the mouth;
  •  diarrhea and abnormal bowel movements;
  •  headache and fatigue, decreased performance.

Attention : If there are 1-2 symptoms, then it is not always possible to say that the patient has fermentative dyspepsia. With several symptoms at the same time, it is worth consulting a doctor, especially if there is a feeling that the food is not digested normally, and with chronic diarrhea.

Diagnostics

The disease manifests itself in different ways, and the attending physician during the initial examination is interested in what the patient is complaining about. It is a little more difficult with young children - they cannot explain what is bothering them. Parents of the child should compare how the baby behaved before the onset of unpleasant symptoms.

  • After the initial examination and conversation with the patient, he prescribes a standard laboratory examination, including:
    a biochemical, general or detailed blood test - to determine the degree of load on the body;
  • fecal samples and antigen testing - to identify bacteria that provoke fermentation processes in the digestive tract.

Treatment

Comprehensive treatment of dyspepsia will help eliminate symptoms and improve the digestive tract. An integrated approach is expected:

  1. medicinal preparations;
  2. balanced diet;
  3. herbal treatment;
  4. targeted antibiotics;
  5. physiotherapy and other health-improving procedures;
  6. the use of corticosteroids and drugs for the regulation of the neuroendocrine system;
  7. drugs that regulate and stimulate the work of the pancreas and gallbladder, kidney liver.
  8. the use of castor oil, calcium-containing drugs, analgesics, antispasmodics.

From traditional medicine, a decoction of birch buds, tincture of plantain and other herbs are used. Children are given an infusion of dill or anise seeds, which reduce bloating. For some time, breastfeeding is canceled with the replacement of weakly brewed tea.

Patients are also instructed to follow a diet to reduce fermentation in the intestines - lean protein foods, steamed vegetables and herbal drinks.

If there is a threat of dehydration, the child is shown to be treated under the supervision of the attending physician - in a hospital. Children are often prescribed papaverine to relieve abdominal colic.

Children's dyspepsia

This disease is caused by a putrefactive process in the intestines and its irritation, it also develops in infants. It is associated with the introduction of complementary foods , improper feeding or violation of hygiene standards. Children at risk are:

  •  premature and weakened by chronic pathologies;
  • with congenital pathology or rickets;
  •  with reduced immunity or metabolic disorders;
  •  with abnormalities in the work of the intestines or digestive organs.

About 5% of children have congenital intestinal pathologies or a genetic predisposition to them. For their nutrition, it is important to strictly observe the technology of cooking and diet under the supervision of the attending physician.

Signs of the disease in children

  • colic and spasmodic pain in the abdomen,
  • restless and capricious behavior, tearfulness;
  • violation of sleep and rest;
  • bloating and diarrhea;
    With diarrhea from dehydration, the skin becomes pale and dry.

Disease prevention

Prevention of fermentation in the intestines comes down to dietary compliance and dietary nutrition. Sometimes a specific irritation of the gastrointestinal tract causes a certain product that should be excluded from consumption - pears, sauerkraut, melons, milk, etc.

Attention : The disease is often found in vegetarians who abuse raw foods!
Chronic diseases of other digestive organs also need to be treated in a timely manner, especially the pancreas. With a problematic intestine, you should not eat a lot of fiber - raw plant foods.

Conclusion : This disease does not look threatening, you should not "drink" the symptoms with pills and postpone the visit to the doctor, especially when it comes to the health of the child. Self-medication leads to a protracted chronic process, it is better to immediately contact a medical institution.
