Down jackets are gaining more and more popularity among consumers, and this is fully justified. Lightweight, perfectly retaining heat, and besides, fashionable colors and styles. The down jacket is so versatile that it seems to have only pluses. It can be worn both in harsh winter and dank autumn, suitable for both autolady (shortened version) and everyone else. And, most importantly, this type of clothing is economical, so for the next season it is not a pity to buy a new one. On the other hand, wear resistance allows you to use the product for several seasons in a row.
How to wash a down jacket
In order for the product to retain its original shape and leave no stains on it, it is very important to wash it with special detergents intended for such clothes. You can ask consultants in the household chemicals store about them. If you wash with ordinary powder or soap, this can lead to the fact that the fluff will clump (stick together) so that it cannot be stirred up later, and stains on the fabric may remain for the reason that the powder is washed out of the feather much worse, than from the surface of the jacket.
Down jacket washing rules
The water temperature in the washing machine should be about 30-40 degrees (for this, see the label on the product, where there should be an icon indicating the washing temperature). Spinning is done either manually, which is very laborious, or at low speeds in the machine. By the way, you can use tennis balls (2-3 pieces) for this purpose, which will help beat the fluff and prevent it from gathering in lumps. During drying (at room temperature), also periodically shake the down jacket in different directions so that the down does not dry out in a bunch.
Do not forget to fasten the buttons and zippers before washing to avoid the possibility of deformation. A clearly curved zipper will be much more difficult to fasten. And in the case of buttons, the appearance deteriorates in the place where the button is sewn. So follow the rules, and your down jacket will serve you long and faithfully.
